Crisis.Watch is a crisismapping app to assist in local communication between aid workers and those in need. Crisis.Watch has released its first iPhone app for those to share what is happening on the ground during the Migrant Crisis and other crises. We can help protect children and families by communicating the need for water, food, clothing, shelter, first aid, and more.
The app specifically shows world map markers. If you are in close vicinity, you can see text entered, such as "I need water" or "I need shelter and clothing." Aid workers can locate someone requesting assistance, for example, by simply walking towards the marker and responding, "I have water. I am coming your way. I am wearing blue jeans and a T-shirt that says, Crisis.Watch." Additionally, aid workers can work together to locate exact locations within 1600 meters and consolidate efforts without losing precious time.
With this app, we hope to help all humanitarian missions around the world.
Please note: You must have location services enabled for the app to function correctly. Also, if you are a humanitarian aid worker without a Facebook account and would like to use the app, please email support[at]crisis[dot]watch to request an account.
